We want every booking with La Familia Holidays to be smooth and transparent, including if your plans change. This policy explains how bookings are confirmed, how cancellations are handled, what charges may apply, and how refunds are processed. Please read it carefully before confirming your trip.
1. Booking Confirmation
A booking is considered confirmed only once we receive the agreed advance or full payment and issue a written confirmation (via email or WhatsApp) with your booking reference. Until confirmation is issued, prices and availability are subject to change without notice. Any verbal quote or hold is provisional only.
2. Supplier Charges Are Non-Refundable
Most travel components are booked through third-party suppliers who set their own cancellation rules. Once issued or confirmed, the following are generally non-refundable or only partly refundable, strictly as per the supplier's terms:
- Airline tickets, cancellation and no-show charges, fare-difference, and non-refundable fares are governed by the airline.
- Hotel bookings, non-refundable rates, advance-purchase rates, and peak-season blocks may carry full charges.
- Visa fees, government and embassy visa fees, service charges, and biometrics are non-refundable once submitted, regardless of the outcome.
- Travel insurance, cruise deposits, and confirmed transfers, as per the respective provider.
Where a supplier does provide a refund, we pass it on to you after deducting any applicable supplier penalties and our service/handling charge.
3. Cancellation Tiers
For package bookings, the following illustrative cancellation slabs apply on the land/package portion only (airfare, visa, and non-refundable supplier costs are charged separately and in full as above). Exact figures are confirmed in writing at the time of booking:
- More than 30 days before departure: loss of booking advance / deposit.
- 15 to 30 days before departure: approximately 50% of the package cost.
- 7 to 14 days before departure: approximately 75% of the package cost.
- Less than 7 days before departure or no-show: up to 100% of the package cost.
4. How to Request a Cancellation
All cancellation requests must be made in writing so we can act on them promptly. The cancellation takes effect from the date and time we receive your written request. To cancel, contact us via:

Please quote your booking reference and the names of the travellers being cancelled.
5. Refund Timelines
Once a cancellation is confirmed and any supplier refunds are received, we process eligible refunds to your original payment method within approximately 7 to 14 working days. Airline and certain supplier refunds can take longer (often 4 to 8 weeks or more) depending on their own processing cycles, which are beyond our control. Bank or gateway charges, where applicable, may be deducted.
6. Force Majeure
We are not liable for cancellations, delays, or changes caused by events beyond our reasonable control, including natural disasters, extreme weather, strikes, political unrest, pandemics, government restrictions, airspace closures, or supplier insolvency. In such cases, refunds depend entirely on what the relevant suppliers are able to recover, and our service charges may still apply for work already done.
7. Amendments & Changes
If you wish to change travel dates, names, destinations, or other details after confirmation, we will do our best to assist. Amendment requests are subject to availability and to any fare differences, supplier amendment fees, and a handling charge. Name changes on airline tickets are often treated as a fresh booking by the airline.
